Warm Today...

It's getting really hot so I had to come up with some way to keep the fermenter cool.

I don't keep the AC on all day while I'm at work so it can get pretty hot so I went to Target and I got a big Rubbermade storage box (about $15.00).



It's big enough to fit my fermenter bucket and blow off tub. I put some bottles of water in the freezer and then put them in the storage box.



When i took this pic the temp outside is in the 80's but in the box it's about 60deg or so.

I may stop into the Home Depot and pick up some sheets of styrophome to make it more efficient, but so far it works great. I change the bottles out in the morning and then again when I get home from work and then before going to bed.

I don't know what I will do when I go to secondary. Maybe I can make another lid for it with a hole for the carboy to stick out.

Pale Ale

I'm going to try a IPA or maybe an APA this weekend.

Here's the recipee:

• OG 1.057 FG 1.015
  
  
• ABV = 6.05%
  

I think this should give about 69IBU'S

I may try to dry hop as well on this batch but I'm not sure how much or what kind of hops to use yet.
